Lansdowne traveled just into Connecticut to square off against Greenwich in an Empire GU semifinal and came away with the victory. The Irishmen now face Old Blue B in the final this Saturday evening. The visitors were 1st on the scoresheet. The irresistible force that is Robby Davies continued his massive try scoring tally as he was the recipient of a dart from Barry Enright, and he subsequently slammed down under the posts. Barry converted for the full points tally. Seven minutes later, and Sean Hayes led the charge of out a ruck. The sequence went from Barry Enright to to Dillon Casey to Co Man of the Match John Giordano, who electrified with a 35 meter dart into goal. Barry converted again for the 14 0 advantage. In minute 18 Robby Davies hugely impacted again with a 40 meter dash. Spectacular offloads/interplay between Robby, Dillon Casey and “Big” Dave Hansbury got the ball out wide to the capable hands of Khalif Heatley. Khalif demonstrated beautiful footwork and power as he blasted through the defence and touched down. However in minute 24 Greenwich demonstrated their class with a lovely drive through 15 hard worked phases as their scrumhalf slammed down in goal. But after that, it was all Lansdowne.
  In minute 33, the superb combo of Dominic Sofe and Co-Man of the Match Steven Grenham powered through the Greenwich defence. The ball came out to Dillon Casey, who whipped out to Eddie Ringler. Eddie blasted through the defence and emphatically touched down. In minute 35, a couple of Greenwich penalties got Lansdowne to within striking distance and the peerless Barry Enright split the posts to make it a 4 score advantage for the visitors.
  The 2nd half started and Lansdowne continued where they left off. In minute 45 Dillon Casey intercepted a pass and linked up with Robby Davies who passed wide to Dominic Sofe. Dom blasted through the defence and put the visitors up by 32 5. In minute 55, Dillon quicked tapped off of a Greenwich penalty and whipped the ball to Barry Enright who galloped downfield. Pinpoint timing saw him offload to the streaking Robby Davies who slammed down for his brace. In minute 75, the score was finalized as Mark Giordano grabbed the ball at the base of a scrum and perfectly timed his pass to the fortuitive Pio Sovalevu. Pio touched down and Dillon Casey converted.
